We are delighted to be an official Forest School accredited by the Northern Ireland Forest School Association (NIFSA).

Forest School is an exciting initiative which aims to get children outside enjoying and exploring the world around them. The children take part in a series of regular forest school sessions within our own school grounds as well as in Castle Park. Each session lasts approximately one hour and includes activities such as den building, hunting for minibeasts, making fairy houses and working together to build bird nests.

As Forest School sessions can get rather muddy, school provides a set of waterproof clothing for each child to wear along with welly boots. These jackets and trousers are lightweight enough to fit over warm winter clothing whilst not being too hot in the summer.  On Forest School days we would ask that you please send your child in leggings/jogging bottoms and shoes they can easily manage by themselves so that everyone can get ready quickly and independently.
